IT DOESN'T ALWAYS

Numb from emptiness,
How the heart can ache
From lack of feeling
Absent emotions don't

Translate into an absence
Of emotions. There needn't be
blood for bleeding from
The heart.

Loneliness doesn't require
One to be alone.

REFLECTIONS OF FUTURE'S PAST

Memories of an unfinished kiss
Questions of the future
history did miss.

Interrupted by fate
With hopes to be resumed
At a much later date.

Moving forward by going back
Hoping to find
What the present did lack,

WHEN MEMORIES MATTER

Bringing back visions of
Who I was through
The eyes of
Who I am.

Reconciling reason
Remains a Herculean task
Especially for one who
Has lived life behind a mask.

Romance becomes the illusion
Enabling the solution
Happiness to be achieved
When logic is deceived.

LOVE NOT TOUCHED

No need to make love

When it’s already there.

Together as one,

Our souls a pair.

Passion persists

In quantities to spare.

More than even our

Bodies are aware.

Being apart seems too

Difficult to sometimes bare.

Sill no one said

All lives must be lived fair.

LOVING PAST THE PRESENT

Memories of moments past often

Bring a lump to my throat

Making it necessary to

Live without breathing.

Transformation does

Not require touching

To satiate a soul. Distance

Matters not to the determined.

This makes it easier to

Love without feeling,

Relying on recollections

To warm a lonely heart.

LIFE BY DEGREE

When teaching is the objective sought
Often efforts go for naught.

Lesson's learned are not always the same as lesson's taught.
Experience is the currency where knowledge is sometimes bought.

RECONCILIATION

Mention of my Muse and I'm writing again

Not a matter of If only one of When.

Bursting with so much to say

Messages in poetry is my way.

Not always where I'm at but where I've been.

Lessons learned from a life lived in sin.

With Forgiveness now I may

Be able to rise up and face the day.
