LIFE BY DEGREE

When teaching is the objective sought
Often efforts go for naught.

Lesson's learned are not always the same as lesson's taught.
Experience is the currency where knowledge is sometimes bought.

RECONCILIATION

Mention of my Muse and I'm writing again

Not a matter of If only one of When.

Bursting with so much to say

Messages in poetry is my way.

Not always where I'm at but where I've been.

With Forgiveness now I may

Be able to rise up and face the day.

Memories that can not be touched

Can give a better reality as such.

Always there to patch a hole

Buried deep within a soul.

Recollections often give

One the strength to live.

Though your body I may be without

To your spirit always I'll be devout.

REALITY CHECK

Family first because family last
Strong bonds of shared history past.

Their care without outcast.
True love ever vast.

Travels may take you away from home
But from the heart you'll never roam.

Friendship with others may strike a different tone,
Only with family are you never alone.

Had to die so
I could live again.

Letting go to
Holding on to

Where I was
Going to where I am.

MONROE STREET MASSACRE

The Mass was Black
For the trees they did hack.

To object some were afraid
Cause donations were made.

Walk overs led to a Walk-on
In hopes that a star is born.

Not too surprising
That star is rising.

After the credits do roll
Will we finally see the toll!

VERSION AVERSION

Custom fit,
Not always legit
To make a hypocrite.

Seen through jaded eyes
To even the seer surprise.
Blind but from the wise.

And follow only true?
