LUNCH WITH LESLIE
Interest from
a food bank
makes hunger yield.
Dispensation of
social justice it
tries hard to wield.
From starvation
it most often
does shield.
Still poverty's
cruel, careless fate
remains unsealed.

MEMORY OF A MINER
Crippled back
Lungs of black
Down in the hole
Union soul.
Battles won
Victories none.
Willing to sacrifice
For a better life
